Great gathering last night (without Brian)

We had a great time of conversation together last night. Brian McLaren was part of the Sojourners protest in DC (see the Washington Post) and was unable to join us. We are working to find another time for him to come join us. In January, we will be discussing Brian's article, "Church Emerging." For a copy of the article e-mail: emergentbaltimore@gmail.com One suggestion last night was to post a report on the previous gathering so that discussion could happen in the comments. Here's the report, so comment away...

I was just glad to connect with others in the conversation. Like I said when we introduced ourselves, I get tired of trying to explain myself in regards to this conversation (don't get me wrong...I don't mind explaining), I actually want to be sharpened and to sharpen others in it.

I guess what I'm trying to say is I want to connect with other people who are there and want to go further. It was such a relief to be in a room with so many people who are rethinking how we do church in today's culture.

Honestly, I felt at home for the first time in a very, very long time. I am doing everything I can to make it back monthly.

It was great that you could make the long-haul to be with us. This blog and the resultant comments are not very active. I never quite understood why. Perahps it'll take a few folks to jump start it.

Can't wait for January's meeting.
